Jon definitely set the beginning of the season well, Arbiter preaching Chief about trolling and the ways of online gaming, immediately followed by his apparent and ironic sign of corruption.
Even though I loved the funeral scene, I still think Jon could have made it shorter and spend a little less time establishing Eugene Black and his clan. I felt like the conversation between Eugene and the security guard was dragging it. That way we could have had more screen time for Arbiter and Chief and some comedy.

Comedy was also one thing I found a bit lacking and given the theme of this season, this could turn out to be challenging for Jon. This could also be nit picking but I was also disappointed with the casting of Eugene Black (the voice over being done by Jon himself). Mostly because the voice is identical to Trent's. And Jon obviously has a selection of voice actors to choose from now.

When the season 6 premier came out, I also said that the comedy was lacking. Even though to this date it's still my favorite premier out of seasons 5-7, because it perfectly sets the plot: Arby 'n' the Chief bringing down some major bastards. Jon has become more of a story teller than a comedian and there has been a lot of criticism about that. I don't think it's a bad thing as long as the comedy is still there and I can get good laughs here and then. The biggest reason I love season 6 for is the excitement. The series don't necessarily need to be just comedy based to be entertaining.
